Presbyterian Medical Group's Socorro clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our team. In this role, you will provide clinical and administrative support to providers while helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities:
*Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
*Prepares patient for rooming and exam
*Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
*Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
*Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
*Provides basic education to patients
*Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
*Performs office-based procedures
*Performs basic foot care
*Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
*Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
*May perform regulatory audits
*Assists with visit closure
*Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs.
*May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent required
*Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
*Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
*BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required within 90 days of hire
*Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
*Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.
Orthopedic and Podiatry Departments Only:
*ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist A Required within 12 months of hire.
